Don't Talk! Communicate!

ONE ON ONE A local preacher whose wife I'd worked with on several occasions came into to one of my adult seminars Dealing with Difficult People. He confided in me that he was sometimes overcome with panic when talking to members of his congregation. I slipped into one of his Sunday sermons and he was a polished professional and enjoyable to listen to. I told him. He said he loved his Sunday sermons. His problem was talking to members "one on one." So we worked on communicating with different types of people. Our fear of speaking is natural and normal and we all different areas of concern.
"Never teach a pig to sing. It frustrates the pig and irritates you.
My Aikido sensei tells the story of a poor man who came to class. Told everyone, "My place doesn't look like much, but inside it is a mansion." One day the sensei went by and it was a crude cabin. Inside was one room with an uncovered light bulb hanging down as it's only source of light. Sometimes communicating past another's perceptions is difficult and should we ever steal another's dream?
