| Often Tai Chi and other martial arts have a story to illustrate the form and help students remember the sequence of movements. The 5 Elements Story goes as follows Fire A volcano erupts and then causes a powerful flow of lava. Water When the lava hits the water it causes a great tsunami (wave) that hits the shore and then pulls out the tide causing a great swell. Metal The lava cools and hardens as hard as metal. Wood A tree grows from the lava and takes nourishment from the sun. Earth The whole earth flourishes and becomes new. |
